Spring 2022 at Smash The Box
Spring is here, and our commitment to responsible redesigning streets for people, not cars, is bright and colorful! We have some more great news from your friendly-Seattle neighborhood, all-inclusive, “small-size: big moves” Urban Planning & Design firm Smash The Box!
We are excited and honored to announce we have been selected to partner with the Beacon Hill Community and Seattle’s Department of Transportation (SDOT) on a renewed vision for the #SeattleTransportationPlan .
Seattle’s Department of Transportation's latest progression toward inclusive community engagement involves the selection of 9 - Community-Based Organizations to work on Seattle’s Transportation Plan.
To maximize outreach efforts, each community organization will work in specific neighborhoods. Smash the Box will be working with core organizations within Beacon Hill to help with outreach efforts to identify the community's needs and apply them to the STP through policy recommendations.
SDOT has launched a new STP website to keep the community informed on the progress made in establishing a renewed vision for the future of our streets and public spaces. The timeline of the project can be found on the site as well. For inclusivity SDOT has committed to ensuring that the STP will be accessible in the following languages.
