Yes Segura, is the founder of Smash the Box. As a professional he labels himself as an Urban/Transportation Planner, Urban Designer, and Cartographer. Yes, holds a Master’s of Science in Planning from Florida State University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Urban Studies & Geography from Virginia Commonwealth University. His advocacy for equity and health are derived from his lived experience of being a 1st generation El Salvadoran and openly transgender man.

Tamara Kim Schmautz (she/her) is a volunteer with Smash the Box. She is active in transportation advocacy, working to make it safer for everyone to bicycle in Seattle. She is particularly interested in transportation issues in south Seattle where people of color are often underrepresented in planning and decision making. Tamara retired from UW Medicine in 2022, and served as Board President of Cascade Bicycle Club in 2020-21.

Jaclyn Tsiang (she/her) is the Data Analyst at Smash the Box. She graduated from Tufts University with a degree in computer science and urban studies. She joined Smash the Box hoping to use her technical skills to make cities more equitable and livable for all. She is excited about using data and technology to center people, rather than cars, in planning processes. In her free time, Jaclyn loves exploring Seattle on bike, spending time in the Cascades and making food with her friends.
