StBox is Now LGBTBE Certified!
Earlier this week we were approved by the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce as a LGBTBE - Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Business Enterprise. Applying for this business certificate was one that was promoted by our local GSBA Chamber of Commerce. Since we were 1 of the 13 Small Business Incubator graduates, the GSBA waived our fee to apply for this certificate!
What exactly is a Certified LGBT Business Enterprise?
The LGBTBE Certificate is a program established by the NGLCC, that provides integrity and National LGBTQ+ status to LGBTQ+ business owners who must meet the following criteria:
At least 51% Owned, Operated and Controlled by an LGBT person(s)
LGBT owner(s) contribute expertise and capital
Independence as a standalone business
This program goes to show that the discriminations that our LGBTQ+ communities face in the U.S. and in today’s world, will no longer be greeted by silence. In joining the growing numbers of businesses who identify as LGBT with this nationally recognized certificate will help us when applying for contracts with Smash the Box. We are more then elated to be part of the equality, inclusive, and sustainable efforts being made at such large scale via this program. If we are going to walk the talk of equity & health, we must work with our existing communities to help make this change happen.
